Honestly, the discrimination we get playing MTG....

Finally caught up with work long enough to update this for the 1st time in 2 weeks,,, unfortunately, I only got 13 mins before I leave for school. Let's do this then.

School: Nothing much to say... handed up 1st PI draft le, may need to refine, and got into my group. May elaborate later. It's been quite... tiring as of late.

CCA: Coach decided to take on several students for foil, which is the hardest of all 3 fencing weapons to master. So that means the others have to exercise extra hard. That means me too. In any case, he introduced a training programme by the italian fencing team, and I was like, hopy cr*p, I can't do any of this. Honestly, when you see this, at 1st it looks like a dance club or somewhat. It's harder than it looks. Finally got cramps doing it. Seniors can only come once a week now, due to exams. Too bad for them.

MTG: Main topic. As you can notice, people think it's funny to post random crap on my cbox. Honestly, they've got nothing better to do. They think up crap random names of cards that don't even fit inside any environments. If you haven't even tried it, why are you making fun of a game I've tried and come to actually like? It's like me making fun of your soccer, or fishing, or whatever hobbies you like. I thought it would end at Secondary School, but this... the immaturity of some people. Maybe I'll remove the CBox if this doesn't let up.

On another note, gonna get my commons on Thursday to make a budget variant of my Mana Denial Deck. Meeting up with my old friends on that day too. Can't wait. Will post up a decklist later.

General: Started reading couple of reference books. Might help me in CSE. ALso stocking up on more sweets, but they keep disappearing withing days (MY stash got decimated down to a small portion of it's orignal size.)

Cr*p, time's up. See you next post.

Blog Report in 7mins or less/more

'Nuff said. Let's do this!

School: PI's coming along fine. Got tests on wednesday, training on wed and fri. Having trouble catching up on HW though.

Family: No Comment.

MTG: Got an updated list for my mana denial deck. Hope to bring it to training next week. If any of the team members are reading this, please bring convincing mirages and contaminated ground.

CCA: Tiring as usual (holy cr*p, 2 mins left.). Did lunges from one end to another.

Any games (MMORPG, etc.): My cousin got banned for hacking.... again -_- Since he's a repeat offender, the game publisher sent an email to my aunt fining her. She's not gonna bother, and i reckon my cuz ain't gonna be happy. In any case, playing in my spare time, which is around 0900~1030pm. Normally no time to play though.

Made it. Cya next post.

Honorable Mentions.

Back, folks. Had a good day today. After tackling most of my HW (MOST.), ignored some friend requests on FB (for the heck of it, besides annoying sia.), continuing with my PI 1st draft, and studying a bit more, I found myself looking at the FULL visual spoiler of RoE. I must say, I was pretty impressed by the excellent no. of goodies I could use for deck construction.

WARNING: MTG RANT AHEAD. DO NOT READ unless you play too, and understand the jargon.

Let start with (by color):
Colorless:

All is Dust: HOLY CR*P. That is seriously sick. Kills EVERYTHING, including planewalkers, ur mom, protection from X creatures, ur mom, Progenitus, ur mom, enchantments, anything that's colored (talk about racism.). AND READ-SACRIFACE. That means no Elspeth/Dauntless Escort Shenanigans. Another mention is Deathless Angel.
The best part is that it's completely splashable with any deck. My gripe is the 7 mana cost, but who cares.

White:

Wall of Omens: Read JVL's article on it. Excellent representation. Wesley would like that.
Survival Cache: Another card he will like, if he's still playing his Life Gain Deck.
Studant of Warfare: This is excellent. T1: Student. T2: Pump, swing for 3. That's as fast as you'll want, +You don't have to empty your hand. Expect to pay high for it.
Nomad's assembly: Think: t5: Conqueror's pledge T6: This, get 6 dudes T7: Rebound This, get 12 dudes. That's 18 creatures for the price of 6:1. Slick.
Gideon Jura: Think of him as conqueror's pledge copies 5~x, cept the tokens can be killed with one removal spell, CAN'T be killed in battle, Can't block, etc. Oh, and as a game-breaker if it comes down to a attrition match.(Destroy them, or lure them, then swing ftw.) Nice.

Blue:

Distortion Strike: This card's excellent, making sure you get in 2 free hits over 2 turns.
Regress: It's like WOTC read my mind. my mana disruption strategy will be a hell load stronger with this baby. Common somemore. (BUDGET VARIANT, here I come.)
Reality Spasm: Versatile, taps down dudes for the alpha strike, or untaps yours to defend. And it's an instant. WOOHOO~
Guard Gomozoa: Diffcult to kill in battle. Nice blocker.
Halimar Wavewatch: Good Blocker in the early game, romps the field in the late. Nice to combo with spreading seas too.

Black-wow, we got a ton of goodies here. :

Arrogant Bloodlord: hmmm.... good attacker, and in a format where dudes rarely play x<1 ... could be good.
Virulent Strike: Death touch and a power boost. Over 2 turns. Instant speed. Me like.
Consuming Vapors: 2 edicts in one card. and you get life out of the deal too. Pretty good.
Consume the Meek: Now aren't you glad you play so many fatties. Kills tokens too, come to that.
Contaminated Ground: OMG. THANK YOU. This makes Spreading Seas Copies 9~12. My mana denial tactic's gonna become cheaper. And it burns too. Nice. (Now if they only introduced one that does mountains.)
Inquisition of Kozilek: None too shabby. 3D would definitely want that.

Red:

Staggershock: 4 damage for 3. Good, though my only gripe is it ca't kill 4 toughness. Can be a 2 for one though. sweet.
Surreal Memoir: Rebound looks good. Take back more removal? Even better.
Devastating Summons: Wow, makes me want to play Brendan's r/b sligh/zoo. Falls into line with the Rakdo's Creed: CASH IT IN. CASH IT ALL IN.
Flame Slash: Removal. Meh.
Fissure Vent: another card for my Mana Denial Deck. S/B material only though.
Kargan Dragonlord: Shades of Figure of Destiny in that one. Albeit end result: 8/8 with flample rather than 1st strike, and you can't level up instantly.
Tuktuk the Explorer: LOLOLOLOLOL.
Raid Bombardment: Suddenly Eldrazi tokens dec. seem so viable.

Green:

Momentous Fall: Removal on my dude? Hmmmm.... how about this, my dude still dies, you waste your card and I get extra life and cards out of the whole deal. Sound good, no?
Mul Daya Channelers: I FOUND MY 3-DROP!!! Plays double duty, and is a heck load better than Leatherback.
Khalni Hydra: Refer to the Serious Fun article on 30/03/10. Couldn't have put it better myself.
Kozilek's Predator: Refer to Raid Bombardment.
Awakening Zone: Refer to Kozilek's Predator.
Realm's Uncharted: I have good ideas for thi. but..... gotta w8 and see whether or not it's viable.
Vengevine: Simply *************** beyond relief. Too bad it's a mythic, haste is nice, especially with Oran Rief around.

There's a ton more cards I would have liked, but those are, to a large extent my faves for RoE. Can't wait for the prerelease, I going there with Wesley come this weekend.

Starting Afresh, Pt.1

Hmmm... lately I have been noting a lot of pessimism in my posts, so I decided, rather than consistently blast my weaknesses, I ought to do something about them.

Studies: Nothing to do but study somemore... Gotta cut down on gaming too. But I'm just so damn lazy :)

Exercise: Darn, can't do a lot of things, can't play football, can't throw a frisbee properly (Tried that today, hit a teacher, got us 50 pumping :)), can't do pull-ups, let only proper sit-ups. My ma says do sit-ups everyday. Think I'll follow that instruction. (Apparently sit-ups train back muscles, something we need in alot of things.)

Magic, the Gathering: No point saying I'm weak, just means more practice to get back into the game.

Practice, Practice, Practice. Apparently that's today's keyword for me. On the other hand, I may have been taking my insults a little too seriously. Gotta be more thick-skinned.

Hmmm.... I suppose that's all I can think of writing. Will show you how my measures help me next post.

A personal reflection of the 1st quarter of 2010

Aw man... Life's a total mess right now. I'm clogged with work, doing badly in Essay tests, and jammed with commitments here and there. My school friends aren't helping much either. Therefore, I'm writing a recount of what happened during the 1st quarter of 2010.

General: Went into JC. Really, when you're 1st in JC, after being one of the oldest in Sec School, it's like being Sec1 all over again. It's worst when nearly everyone has their Birthdays earlier. I know this saved me from Birthday Bashes, but every time someone points out a mistake, I feel like some kid who's being told off. Maybe it's because I've become a lot more sensitive to this since Sec1. Didn't feel that way back then. 2ndly, take a boy who has been in a boy's school since Primary One, and put him in a school where the MAJORITY of students is GIRLS. What do you get? A complete Shyfest. Honestly, I become a lot more withdrawn because of this. Finally, it's the nicknames, how do you like being called Johnny English?
By Subject:
GP: w/o a doubt, one of the hardest topics i've been in, and I have the most irrelevant knowledge. Really, as of LAST year, my little mental archive is considered obselete, due to progress. Knowing little bits of info is useless. One must take this bits and piece them together to get the big picture, then zoom into that picture to pinpoint whatever you're going into. I failed to do that, and as a result, obtained dismal marks. =.=
Economics: Centered around the MAIN problem of Scarcity, Grapsing the concept is easy, anyone can do it. The hard part comes in APPLYING it, knowing when your knowledge comes in handy, knowing whether or not it is irrelevant to the question. The 2nd bit comes in writin it quickly. This I fail to do, and again I constantly fail ESSAY parts.
Geog and CSE: Refer to Econs. Nearly the same there.
Maths: Man, my little comfort in a environment of Essay Torture. Nothing beats figuring out Questions. Too bad it's a H1 subject.
PW: Driving me mad here, so much work to do, most likely to get kicked back at me to redo. Still haven't figured out what I could learn from Syncretism.
CL: Doable, DW, refer to translator, make sure you pick up the vocab. (same goes for GP, w/o translator) The rest will come naturally.
CCA: Fencing- FUN, FUN, FUN as hell. Height and dominant hand factors a little there. I'm tall, giving me further reach, and is left-handed, meaning that people do not know how to come at me, since there's less left-handed people in the meta. Coach says I should go for epee.
Magic, the Gathering: Since my return to the game, I've been doing badly. My concept is still pretty strong, the main problem comes in applying it. Honestly, I'll will not go for a tourney until I get better, and my deck is set up. I'm just that weak.
Not much of a reflection, but it's a start. I suppose it's time to go back to the Grinder. On the plus side, Poly starts this week!! YAY!

When life gives you lemons, you grow a lemon tree, then make lemonade. Duh.

Argh, got so much work to do... just here to put up what cards are definitely going into 3Ds, and go into detail on why Sarkhan the Mad is AWESOMELY MAD. Oh, and to provide a list of cards I need.... hehe :p

To buy List:
3 Sedraxis Specter (lucky still got one)
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Creeping Tar Pit
4 Mind Rot
2 Tectonic Edge
4 Convincing Mirage
4 Creeping Nulls
3 Abyssal Persecutor
4 Dragonskull Summit
4 Scalding Tarn

if you wish to sell, pls leave your offer, qty and qty of card, Date and time of which you can pass it to me.

Now then, on to business. There has been alot of controversy on Sarkhan the Mad. I, and possibly my Rakdos kin, reckon that this card is wonderful, and embodies what R/B decks are about- to CONVERT EVERY SINGLE FREAKING RESOURCE INTO DAMAGE. Honestly, he refuels your burn-zooka, Turns wasted resources into a beater, and FIRES THEM BEATERS OFF FOR A BILLIONTY damage. You're just lucky its not costed at 4, otherwise it will be seriously overpowered. In any case, with Ad Nauseum Sligh/Zoo, This would fit in very nicely when Ad Nauseum rotates out. And even if your enemy kills him off, fine by me- He was supposed to die anyway. Celestial Purge is cheating though =3

That's all for today, cya next post.

Awww cr*p, so much to account for....

Ehhhhh~ sorry for being out of the radar for the past week or two, it's been really hectic lately. I've been either stuck with doing work, having a CCA commitment, and Tomb-sweeping Day.... on Good Friday :( This post will be split into a few parts to facilitate easy reading and flaming. :)

General: Caught up on most of my HW, even though they are marked as 0 in my DW. Have a NAPFA test this coming Friday, with 2.4 cleared with a JUST fail. Cr*p. Time to go for mega-intensive training. Kicked about a few ideas for PW, but seems that none of them will make it.

I do have an interesting idea for amalgamation- Chimeras (not the mythical type, mind). Other than that, perhaps going into the merger of Malaya, S'pore, Sabah and Sarawak to form Malaysia (cue Power Rangers Theme:)) does have its merits. As for Alternatives, ideas include alternative sources of energy, even burning manure (yes, Sh*t.), Alternative lifestyles (Vegan, Vegetarian), Food, etc.

Magic: Cr*p, missed last week's duo training, probably in deep sh*t. Wesley's already blasted me about it on FB. Just as well, I'm missing a few cards (actually, nearly all of them.), due to losing my box containing my old grixis aggro during the Holidays. I'll put up a list for cards needed, if any available, pls leave qty. and price at the CBox. Tinkered with the 3Ds deck a little. It's shaping up to be a serious contender. I'm considering a few cards though:

Abyssal Persecutor: In a format full of removal, its drawback hardly counts. 4-of.
Surreal Mind: reuse 2 removal for 1 card. Nice.
Sarkhan the Mad: Really awesome. Go into detail next post.
Oh well gotta go, cya then.
