Block Test, Day 1

Hmmm... what should I say? Oh right, I got slaughtered. Badly.

GP: Essay was okay,I just wish I got more evidence to consolidate my points. Compre was a no-brainer, I could think up of quite a few synomyms for Soap, Shower Gel, and other sanitary products. Summary, I'm still worried, it's my weakest topic.

CL: Inability to write 600 words in Paper 1 + ridiculously hard questions in Paper 2 = I got steam-rollered haha. The dictionary was a great help, but I wish I wasn't resorting to it. Time for Primary-School Style Xi-Zi.

Tomorrow's Econs, I wish I could say I'm confident, but I'm not :) My essay writing style needs a lot of work. Oh well, at least we could head home after the test to prepare for the next one.

Wah, the school holidays go by so fast...

Woot, I haven't updated this in ages... too much to say, do, and worry about. In any case, it's worrying, School's starting tomorrow and I'm probably gonna get creamed in the Block Test, there's just too much to study. I'll probably get retained this year at this rate...

China was fun, but typically crowded. Wish I could post some pictures, I really took a lot while I was there.

Anyways, enough bothering you all with my worries, school's about to start, it's a fresh beginning and this is where the going gets tough. We're supposed to cover the majority of the syllabus this term...

Hmmm... maybe I'll post short sharp posts everyday rather than a long, drawn-out wall of text. It'll be easier on the eyes perhaps. And I'm looking to giving the blog a new look. Anyways, there's gonna be a lot of changes. Let's just keep looking forward, and onward, we can't just plan everything, maybe it's how the system works.
Like for example, in a society, there's always gonna be high-flyers and the downtrodden. Yes, it sucks but it's a way of life. You can't delay the inevitable, the best thing to do is to reduce the impact.

Anyways, philosophical lecture over, I'm signing off. Wish me luck tomorrow...

Post No. 23, Monday, 6am, humid, as usual.

Had a good rest from most forms of physical training this week. Also, finally confirmed that I'm going to China for the immersion trip (Woot.) 2 main highlights. 'nuff said.

Maths: GLad to say, doing a hell load better now. Nearly got full marks for my last test, one qns. got a major brain fart, I found P(XEcons: We're doing Market Failure + Externalities, though if we can't finish the damn thing by this week, we're gonna be in deep sh*t for this July's Block Test. Phooey.
Geog: Finally got around to putting effort into my tutorials, haha. Now I feel like I could learn better, since I can x-ref my work from corrections.
CSE: We learnt how China's govt worked. Though I want to get a reference or two, really confused atm.
PW: We showed our class the GPP on Friday. Found out that if we take out the climate change bits, every single one of our points will be valid. Gonna see what we can do about this.
GP: Flunked my only essay until the block test =.= Gonna see if I can find a few questions to tackle during the holidays. Also need to hit the newspapers agn.

Haha, this week's the last before June Holidays. MY blog posts are going to be more frequent ( And not all on my subjects.)

Post No. 22, Dated 16th May 2010. Weather: Slightly humid, on a/c of storm earlier.Time:2221hrs

We had quite the week. It's shaping up to be a tempestous one.



Maths: Did 6 hard, but standard issue questions. Did pretty well on the first few but decided to work on the older topics after having trouble with them.
Econs: However hard I try to pick up cursive handwritng, it doesn't feel right. Still writng slow =.= On the other hand, went through Market Efficiency and Failure that week. Next week going through Unit 5: Externalities.
Chinese: Finished topic 5- Going to tackle worksheets next week.
GP: Did my 1st, and apparently only essay till the block test. Qns: How far is your country successful in tackle it's biggest issues? Do tackle and post in comments, I'd love to see them.
PW: Had been working on our GPP, we gotta present by Friday. Not allowed to post the details though, it's confidential :)
Geog: We started on Granite Landforms this week. Only landform I could remember is the tor and the castle kopy (kopi?) Putting granite here to help me commit to memory:
Granite: Coarse-Grained Felsic Igneous Rock. Composed primarily of quartz, mica and feldspar. Very strong, resistant to most forms of weather save for hydration, hydrolysis and last one i forget le =p Also non-porous.
CSE: We did communism. Quite the interesting history we got there, Karl Marx should be given credit. Apparently Primitive Communism > Feudalism> Capitalism> Socialism > Communism. Please to note that the Soviet Union (or USSR) and China are both socialist states. Futhermore, China's govt system is a totalitarian system, although with the rise of the middle class it's becoming more of a authoritarian system instead. There's always a power struggle to keep balance, impossible for either side to seize power (each has something the other doesn't.)
PE: Still feeling quite fatigued. Starting to take more protein and lass carbo. Feeling stronger after every sleep. Nice. Inter-House next week, not taking part. Haha.
CCA: Not making progress, but finally figured how to do a lunge properly. My senior says I gotta commit it to muscle memory to do it off-hand. Therefore, Practicing whenever I can.

Post No. 21 Dated 8th May 2008, Weather: Slightly Humid. Time: 2342hrs.

*yawn*..... as you, my dear reader probably noticed, I've added the details of the post to the title. Makes it more neat, and I wanted to see whether I could find a trend in my posting frequencies. Just a inofficial mini-project, I suppose. Ah well. ON to events.

General: Mother's Day that week, went to Northpoint to see whether I could find a good present.
Turns out, none of the shortlisted articles met my specs. and my budget, ended up finding a good one at the bazaar outside my school. When I gave it to my mum, she took it nonchalantly , put it on her hand and looked at it. Wonder if she liked it?

Education:
GP: Started to read simple articles to give me a boost, I've been away from non-fiction for so long, my head couldn't comprehend. Also archiving them, intending to extend on my assignment to stretch it from 40 articles to far longer. Aiming 150 articles by next June.

Maths: We finished our last assignment in our tutorial for the term. Now teacher's gonna start on revision, drilling us 2 hard questions per lesson. WITHOUT NOTES.

Geog: Teacher left this week, gonna revert back to Mdm Selvi next week, but after next month she's transferring too. Shame. Anyways, flunked my test, could 've been worse, but I'm not taking any chances. Starting revision on my older topics. Also gonna tackle some old tutorials too. Make my file nice and neat for inspection.

Econs: Teacher also left. She's gonna be back in July. Gonna improve in the meantime. Hoping to receive ways to tackle essays, I'm so damn weak at doing them.

PW: Handed up my PI, but we(the group) decided to do Hui Min(a classmate)'s idea on intra-plate earthquakes. (so original.)Went to Science Center to gather info, but turns out the exhibits we were looking for are giving way to new ones. Damn. We still had fun though. Gonna send the references I gathered so that we could work on our GPP next week.

MTG: Made my deck at last. It's a burn deck with plenty of draw for the late game. Mana's still a bit fishy, but could be improved on by getting better lands. Gonna see whether I could fit in Sedraxis Specter. No list yet, I want it to be a surprise.

Gaming: New group I wanted to introduce, I've always been an avid gamer. In any case, attempting to cut down on gaming time, it's going smoothly. Still gonna target lv70 by end of June, the game's 5th anniversary's during that period.

Exercise: The new 0710 hr PT's a welcome addition. Coach's telling us to run 2.4km per day. I like it, gives it a purpose, to ensure I get a bronze this year (small targets 1st, next year set LARGE ONES.) Doing plenty of stretching too, but I've never felt so fatigued.

The Start of the Tempest....

Let me tell you my friends, things just got really serious.

School: All students who screwed up their NAPFA are required to attend intensive training on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thurdays. There goes my sleeping time :x On another hand, at least I've a good reason to exercise more, and the endorphins will do me good.

Life: Started recording today's notes on MW, and saving them in my com for easy reference. Hopefully this will give me an edge. Also plotted my schedule to follow, but I'm not really gonna follow it.

MTG: Still working on getting cards for this deck, but I'm having misgivings about it. The list just seems so... clunky. The burn is good and all, but I've been away from the meta for so long...

CCA: Lookng forward to training tomorrow, apparently the russian coach who taught us the 1st session is coming. Hope I don't screw up or I'll get a tongue lashing. (She's got a sharp tongue)

Best I go to bed... night folks.

*Yawn* I like Labour Day... To celebrate fools that work all day, by sending them home to play.

Man, I love Labour Day. Govt's had it right. Good thing it's at the weekends, too. That means I can finally update my blog... It's been what, a week since I did? My poly pals ain't so lucky... they still have school :P

School: My PI got rejected. Damn. The points are there though, and I just have to think of a better future circumstance to work on. Therefore, I'm working on ways to solve petty conflicts (if you read the newspapers often, chances are last year, you'll find an article stating that there are more lawsuits over this. LOL.) Also took down plenty of notes in my lectures too, I'm glad my sweets actually came to some use :) Econs on the other hand, ain't so hot. Still screwing up my essays, big time. Honestly. ON another note, I've been picking up cursive writing. (apparently you'll write faster.)

Life: Got my BANK A/C at last. Sweet. So glad my ma's finally agreed to let me manage my finances. Made me feel a little more mature. However, it's a double edged sword, now I can't afford to lose my wallet :( ON another note, my Uncle sat me down, told me to discuss with him what I learnt in school everyday from now on. Gave me plenty of advice too. (apparently, reference books are a good bet. Dunno whether I'd have time to go to the library after school to pick up some. Time to borrow. (hope I don't get overdue-d, they actually charge you for that.)
Also found a nice song: Spose's I'm AWESOME. It's hilarious, go find it on youtube.

MTG: Got my ROE packs last week. opened some solid commons, strong rares, AND A FREAKING SARKHAN THE MAD FOIL!! This is shaping up to be an awesome week. But I can't use foils in tournaments, sold it to Brendan for $20. Now it will just look nice in his folder. (FORGIVE ME MY RAKDOS KIN)

Also made a list for my new deck. Plenty of burn, creatures good enough to win games on it's own, and loads of disruption. Here's my choices:
Creatures:
Sedraxis Specter: I've been playing this card for the past year, and it was plain SOLID. 3/2 with flying for 3 is very efficient already, + its unearth ability and discard is excellent. (note, flying gets past most walls.)
Thought Gorger: I initially gave up on this card when I thought only when it gets sent to the graveyard you get to draw, BUT now i noted when it LEAVES the Battlefield, I get to draw! That makes it awesome too. Too lazy to empty all that burn? leave it to him, with $$$ back guarantee. Also, think: He will set up your graveyard for a UNEARTH alpha strike.
Siege Gang Commander: Perhaps not the best choice, I'm thinking... a more solid dude? (Sphinx of Jwar Isle?)
Creeping Tar-Pit: Sneaks in for damage. All he asks is some mana commitment and ways to draw out removal. Nice.
Burn:
Flame Slash: apparently 4's the magic no. nowadays.
Lightning bolt: 'nuff said.
Burst Lightning: I explained why many posts ago, go find out yourself! jkjk, it's versatile, need anymore be said?
Staggershock: Think- deals 4 dmg divided by 2 to dudes/players as targeted. You can't deal 4 dmg on one dude. Surprisingly good.
Blightning: Solid when 1st introduced, solid now.

Removal:
Terminate: leave it to this card to clear anything with a target printed on it's head.
Consuming Vapors: Kills plenty of stuff. you get life out of the deal too.
Doom Blade/Smother/Vendetta: Meh.

Draw:
Sign in Blood: What more can be said?
Divination: More draw.
Covenant of Minds: I like to mess with their heads.
